Top knit tips
To make a twisted cord, the general rule is that your finished cord will be one third of the original length of your yarn. It's better to over-estimate than make it too short. Knot the strands together at each end. Pin one end down and insert a knitting needle through the other. Making sure the yarn stays taut, spin the needle until the yarn is tightly twisted and is just beginning to kink. Remove the needle. Fold the cord in half and allow the two sides to twist together. Tug the cord to even it out and join the ends to secure.
Use DK from your stash to create these colourful snakes. Why not make them longer then coil them into your child's initials.
