What you need to know

Knit a cute and cuddly alpaca toy in pure alpaca yarn! Add embroidery to her dress for a springtime touch

What better fibre to knit a baby alpaca in than soft alpaca yarn? This gorgeous design by Val Pierce features a fabulous hair-do, an embroidered dress and adorable knobbly knees. Alicia would make a beautiful gift for children or adults alike but if you intend to give her to a young child or baby, omit the button and ribbon and ensure the hair is stitched on very tightly.

Yarn: Drops Puna DK, shades (A) 03 Brown, two 50g balls, (B) shade 08 Anthracite, (C) shade 02 Beige, (D) King Cole Merino Blend DK, shade 855 Mustard, one 50g ball of each, oddments of DK yarn for embroidery
