Ann Crick's impressive socks show how one pattern can work with a variety of different self-patterning yarns
We're always telling you that the possibilities are endless when it comes to sock knitting, and if you didn't believe us, then just take a look at this array of fab footwear. There are a few different options to choose from for the cuff, heel and toe, but the main reason they look so different is because you knit to the colour change, rather than a set pattern. Decide which colours in the yarn will be knitted and which will be purled and also the sequence they will be knitted in, then fill out the table in the image library to the right. Enter them as they sequence, pick randomly or just choose one colour to purl. You won't know what pattern you'll get until you've finished so it really is a true mystery project!
