Lights, camera, action: behind the scenes with Let’s Knit!

We receive so many gorgeous projects here in the LK office and as we’ve yet to come up with a way to let you see them for real, we have to make sure we convey them in all their glory on the printed page. Enter our master photographers, Ant and Olly from Cliqq Photography. These guys are an important part of the LK team, and we work together to capture both the style and technical aspects of our projects.

Professional models are called in to show off our fabulous garments and accessories. Here, Alana Wallace wears Kelly Menzies’ beautiful Saadi shawl, while editor Sarah makes some all-important adjustments. Stylist Boo Hill and hair and make-up expert Dottie Monaghan complete the team to add glamour to our model shoots.

As well as model shoots, we also style up full room sets and it’s the little touches that really complete a photograph. Here’s editorial assistant Amy doubling up as a picture hook!

Things can also get a little bizarre at times. Here, deputy editor Adrienne and editorial assistant Abbi get creative assembling a romantic yarn meal for two…

Things reach dizzying heights as photographer Ant takes a bird’s eye look at the intricate stitch pattern on one of our garments.

Finally, it’s always important to take care of every detail. Adrienne and Amy put the finishing touches to our shot of Lucinda Ganderton’s crochet clutch bag – complete with guest appearances from their own phones and lipsticks!
