Use your DK yarn stash to knit a cute cover for a Creme Egg and send it off to be sold for a good cause. In 2024, the Didsbury-based charity received 35,000 knitted and crochet covers for Creme Eggs, sent from all over the world. These were then sold, raising over £85,000 for the organisation which supports children and young adults with life-limiting conditions and their families.
The deadline for receiving the covers this year is 10th March 2025. You can use your own design - check out our knitted creme egg cover patterns - or use the knitting and crochet patterns provided by the charity.
Post the finished chicks to:
Fundraising Office,
Francis House Children’s Hospice,
390 Parrswood Road,
Didsbury,
Manchester,
M20 5NA
Please remember to mark your parcel ‘Easter Chicks’.
The group sells the chicks in the Greater Manchester area, but you are also welcome to sell your chicks locally and send in the money raised as a donation.
You do not have to include the chocolate eggs in your parcel but if you are able to provide any eggs or make a donation towards the cost of filling the knitted covers, it would also be gratefully received by the charity. If you are a food outlet or know of any businesses that may be interested in donating eggs to the cause, that would also be a great help.
