So you thought we were looking forward to Yarn Shop Day? Here’s a little someone who is bursting with excitement: Sparklemouse, our Yarn Shop Day mascot!
Here he his, our Yarn Shop Day mini project, designed exclusively by Sue Stratford! Stores all over the country have been sent patterns for this little chappy, so if Sparklemouse tickles your fancy, pop along to a participating yarn shop on the big day (that’s Saturday 3rd May, in case you missed that!) and give him a go. If you’re unsure whether there’s a store near you, check out our brilliant interactive map.
Don’t worry if you’re not an expert knitter yet, as Sparklemouse is a project designed to help you pick up the basics whilst making something cute. If you’ve been wanting some help getting started on a project or have got in a muddle and need some tips then Yarn Shop Day is the perfect chance to learn from fellow knitters. You’ll find experienced knitters willing to lend you a helping hand, and if you’re lucky you might pick up a few bargains for your next projects while you’re there! For more experienced knitters, many shops will be offering workshops and classes on the day, but don’t let that stop you knitting Sparklemouse too!
