Join the shoulders before working the sleeve edge. The stitches for the sleeve edge is the total to be picked up around the full armhole. You will need to pick up 43 (47, 49, 52, 54, 57) sts on the back and the same number on the front.

Row 10, should read: "sl 1, * p2, k2, rep from * to last st, k1".
This will then keep your rib correct until you start to introduce the stocking stitch/reverse stocking stitch edges on Row 13.
