What you need to know

Turn a knitted rectangle into a handy travel case with Laura Strutt's super simple knitting pattern

Use small amounts of yarn and scraps from your fabric stash to create this handy jewellery cover. There is no shaping at all, simply work a rectangle of moss stitch. Moss stitch is worked by alternating knit and purl stitches. It's knitted in two colours of DK yarn and the yarns are held together to create a thick and sturdy fabric that will protect your pretty things. The ring holder is made with a traditional French knitting dolly but you could work i-cord instead if you prefer. Download this beginner knitting pattern today!

Top knit tips

K2tog (knit two together) is a simple decrease stitch. To work it, put the tip of the RH needle into the next two stitches on the LH needle from front to back then knit the two stitches together as if they were one stitch.
