What you need to know

Knit a majestic lion toy with this classic Val Pierce knitting pattern

With Disney's new Lion King movie, Mufasa, hitting cinemas this December, this toy is the ideal project for big cat lovers. Our Dillon has a majestic mane and cute expression, but you could omit the mane to make him look like a younger lion cub, or bold lioness! Choosing a self-striping yarn means you get a great effect without the effort. There’s a little bit of simple shaping, but otherwise this knitting pattern is very straightforward to make. The tassels for the tail and mane will take a while so leave yourself plenty of time for finishing up.

NOTE: the crochet hook is only used for attaching the tassels.
