What you need to know
Elevate your knitting skills with Julie Ferguson's lace bolero pattern, complete with intricate ribbon details.
The soft greys, fawns and greens of our beautiful shrug by Julie Ferguson are inspired by an airy forest on a summer's day. Knitted in a luxurious Fair Trade cashmere, silk and baby alpaca blend, it is wonderfully soft and simpler than it looks, incorporating basic yfwds, k2togs and slipped stitches to great effect. Dapple is knitted flat and the cuffs are then sewn together, creating a tube which you can slip your arms through.

Top knit tip
To work a kfb, as in the cuff section of our Dapple pattern, work the following steps:
● k into stitch as usual but leave it on LH needle
● bring tip of RH needle around to back, k into back of loop of same stitch and slip it off needle
This increase method is also sometimes known as a bar increase as it leaves a small bar or bump at the base of the second stitch.
