What you need to know

Learn how to knit in the round with Charmaine Fletcher’s fingerless glove pattern.

Discover this brilliant textured effect, whilst knitting this super cosy, long-length mitten pattern. This glove project will keep you snug on chillier days and look really stylish too. It’s a great opportunity to get to grips with knitting in the round using double-pointed needles, plus the shaping is achieved by switching needle sizes - clever, no?

What do I need?

Yarn: King Cole Luxury Merino DK, shade 3327 Pebble, two 50g balls
Needles: 3.25mm, 3.75mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, all double-pointed (sets of four)
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle

Sizing

Upper arm circumference: 26cm,
Hand circumference: 20.5cm
Overall length: 34.5cm

Top knit tip

One ball of yarn is used per mitten. Do not cut the yarn when you have finished knitting the tension square. Note down the information and then rewind the yarn into the ball. Also, do not leave a long yarn tail at the beginning: 15cm is adequate to neaten and secure.
