What you need to know
Val Pierce's cuddly pig pattern is worked in stocking stitch with basic shaping.
Designed by our expert toy maker Val Pierce, Olive features some lovely details, including knitted trotters and a curly tail. She's worked in stocking stitch with basic shaping. The dress has a more complex chevron pattern, but it's not as scary as it looks – it's simply a combination of increases and decreases. Embroider the face carefully to create a cute expression.

Top knit tip
The skirt part of Olive's green dress features a design based on a traditional feather and fan pattern. This is made up of groups of decreases followed by groups of increases to create that undulating chevron effect. When knitting Row 1 of the pattern, pay close attention to the brackets which show the sets of instructions to be repeated.
