What you need to know

Hello (or should we say ho, ho, ho?), and welcome to the Let’s Knit Together Christmas Friends Collection Knitalong! Over the next eight weeks, as we creep closer to the big day, we’ll be providing you with a new pattern every Wednesday, and at the very end, you’ll have the most fantastic collection of festive toys to treasure for many years to come. Now, shall we get started on the first one?

If you’ve ever wondered what these special deer do outside the Christmas season, we now have the answer: they put on their favourite sweater and take it easy, ready for December to begin! Ronnie the Reindeer's Scandi-style jumper is worked from the neck down, with the yarns stranded across the back of the work in what is commonly known as the Fair Isle technique. Alternatively, you can use the basic jumper pattern to create plain or simple stripes as an easier option. Knit your pattern by Áine Marriott now ready to make an appearance come Christmas time.
