What you need to know
Knit your own reindeer toy this Christmas with Sachiyo Ishii's easy-to-follow pattern.
He may live with Father Christmas up at the North Pole but this is one reindeer who feels the cold. That’s why he’s all dressed up in his cosy jumper and stripy pom-pom scarf. The sweater is edged with soft, fleecy yarn but you could use a smooth yarn if you prefer. Label the pieces as you go to make assembling your project easier.

Top knit tip
Stitch holders look like giant safety pins and you can use them to stop your stitches unravelling while you are working on a different section. Open up the holder and insert the bar into your stitches as if you were going to purl them, then slide them off your needle onto the holder. Later on, you’ll be able to knit these stitches straight from the holder.
