What you need to know

The pipes, the pipes are calling! We’ve made it to verse eleven and what a dapper musician we have here, just look at his feathered cap and flowing cloak. One of our favourite things about this blanket - and we’ve many - is the depth and dimension given to each flat motif using a few embroidered stitches and tiny pieces of felt. Take time when working the feather to ensure your straight stitches are symmetrical.

Siân Brown is a designer for magazines, yarn companies and publishers. She completed a fashion and textiles degree before starting a successful career in knitwear, which included her becoming a visiting lecturer at London College of Fashion.
