What a super find

Absolutely nothing beats vintage knitting patterns!
I spotted this beauty while having a rummage in the local second hand shops – and somehow I just couldn’t pass it up! I can’t decide if it’s the kitschy charm of her pose, the unusual stitch combo or the fact that was only 30p – but whatever it was I just had to have it! I don’t intentionally collect old patterns (although I do seem to have a fair few) Maybe I’m too sentimental but I just can’t seem to walk away from some of them.
This has definitely made it’s way onto my To Knit List – perhaps with a few modifications… more fitted waist, switch the colourway from peach to scarlet and maybe shorten it a little (apparently I’m somewhat short in the body!) One thing is for sure, I’ll have to master that Jackie-O bouffant to really carry it off!

You’d need the gloves (as well as the hair) to really pull it off though!! :D

this is lovely. iwish i liked jumpers but i prefer cardies they are easier to whip off when you get a hot flush!!! i do have hundreds of these patterns as i collect STITCHCRAFT mags some from the early 1900s they give me lots of ideas.

JUST check the needle size and that should give you what need in wool.

I am very new to this computing, but have been bought up on old knitting patterns,Im still using my mums and nans for my grown up girls, I have never got out of the knit one purl one stage added with plain and garter stitch, lots of these old patterns are pretty straight forward,and its lovely to add new yarns to these leaflets.

once i see your bit on old patterns, i wondered if anyone had motif patterns, i have loads and would be willing to photocopy, and send them to you, if any were required.
