It's vintage and it's knit related – It's perfect!!
This was gifted to me by my sister for my birthday – isn’t it the lushest thing on the planet?!!! I love, love, love it - never let to be said that I’m predictable!! Who would have thought that a pink Bakelite yarn holder with delicate little flowers on the top and it’s own mini needle gauge in the bottom could bring so much joy?!
I can see myself toting this around and straight away it makes me want to cast on something portable like pair of socks – something lovely and lacy in kitten-soft, hand dyed yarn...oh wait that sounds just like the Falling in Love socks that are currently in hibernation. For someone that is so besotted with hand knit socks as me, I feel really bad that are sitting in my work basket on the sideboard and haven’t seen the light of day in longer than I can remember.
I have been trying to work out why these socks have been neglected for so long...the yarn is lovely, the needles are a joy to use, the pattern is perfect – not to easy not too tricky, the results (so far) are delicious. Yet still they remain unfinished! My knitting infidelity is clearly to blame, too many WIPs and sadly this has dropped to the bottom of the list.
I know that it would be rash to vow to change my ways and declare to finish them as soon as possible – so instead I am going to promise that the next time I take them out and hold them, dreamily thinking, “if only these were finished...” I will work a few rows and see if I can fall in love with the Falling in Love socks all over again.

I love the wool container its beautiful. Belated birhday wishes and happy new office. I think like me no matter how good or luscious the feel and idea of the socks is that you need to do something else ‘but what’ this is a feeling I get to often. Can you display the date that each months magazine will be in store? I know that if I subscribe it won’t be a problem, but also notice that there is a chance I will miss this month or next months edition. I have missed enough of this great mag; and would like back copies with free gifts if they are available I WILL PAY honest injun. Please help a new an frustrated knitter.

I have several of these and they are very useful, especially for light cloured wol such as baby wool.
and belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY. GILL.
