Is life too short for intarsia? Hell No!
Is all that tricky switching of colours really worth all the work just to make a pattern in your knitting? Yesterday I might have said ‘nope’ but ask me today and I say ‘bring it on!’
I have just spent six hours in a design and intarsia workshop with Sasha Kagan and can now competently knit with both hands at the same time…that’s right, working two (some times three!) strands of yarn at the same time to create patterns. No more dodgy joins where the new colour starts, no gaps – just beautiful, smooth fabric with my very own design on it! Ta Da!!
With the BSJ on the FO list (minus the sewing on of buttons) I am looking for a new challenge – intarsia stars are calling to me!

The knitting retreat sounds great. Is it just for people on mags etc or can anyone go? If it’s open to anyone please can you let us know the details - a week knitting in good company and with visits to fun places sounds ideal.

That looks great. I bet you were just like the ‘cat that got the cream’ when you were knitting with both hands!!! Purrfect!
The bold design is very pretty.
I love Intarsia knitting and am particularly fond of Debbie Abrahams colourwork in her blankets & throws. If you haven’t got the books you should check them out - the projects are gorgeous but I find that the books are also a great source of inspiration for motifs etc to use in your own knitting!
Great job and can’t wait to see what you choose as your next intarsia project!
Good luck. Bernie
