I wasn't joking about having a thing for stripes.
This is a cheeky, sneaky peek of something that I have been working on for Issue 6 (on sale 11 April). Just a little slice of one of the projects that will be in the magazine – it was great fun to knit and taught me a few lessons along the way, so I don’t feel so bad that it has kept me away from the other things I have on needles. This is proof that I just can’t stop knitting in stripes – I love the neatness, the regularity, the crisp beauty of it. Stripes seem to make the knit feel fast and grow quickly. It also makes it harder to put down, like a voice inside my head saying, “C’mon, just one more colour change!” But at the same time it’s relaxing and soothing. As with many things there is definitely a flip side to delicious knitted stripes...weaving in all those loose ends - the yin and yang of knitting.

have you tried carrying the non working yarn up the side of the work? no loose ends to weave in!
