Finally a FO!

And, FYI I can't make pom poms
This had been on the needles for quite some time considering it was such a small project. I have been swapping between knits lately, so it is great to be able to finally post a FO!
This cute Wee Willy Winkie hat is knitted for my new niece or nephew – and, as we are still eagerly awaiting this new arrival, there is no baby to model it yet!
For such a dinky knit this was a really great lesson in working with repeated colour changes – twisting and carrying the yarn on the inside of the work. I have to confess that it took a little getting used to but, when it came to finishing and there were only a couple of ends to sew in, it felt well worth it.
While I’m confessing, I have to admit that I didn’t make the pom pom myself! After two attempts and a couple of rather sorry looking pom poms later, I decided that this was not something within my skill set and called for back up! (Thank you Adrienne!)
But the best thing about finishing one knit project is starting then next – I think it’s time to try out the Baby Surprise Jacket!

It is a great sense of achievement to finish something and it really looks brilliant!!
I bought Woman’s Weekly this week, I’m not a regular reader, but the knit a baby’s hat caught my eye. Together with Save the Children and Paul O’ Grady they are trying to knit as many baby hats as possible for new born babies in Africa and Asia. There are two patterns plus one on the Save the Children website or you can do your own. For more info google Save the Children.
On the finishing front I have just finished my jacket, it is very warm and snuggly. Sadly I haven’t a digital camera so can’t show you it!
Anyway have fun, byeee!
