I’m not being unfaithful to knitting, but crochet is definitely my best friend!

After a massively rewarding Crochet Flowers workshop with Sasha Kagan I now feel like I can finally say, “I love crochet!” It was great to spend some time covering the basics and then looking at how the stitches create different shapes and effects.

The knitter in me still finds it tricky to coordinate holding the yarn and the hook, then make the movements fluid enough to actually form stitches. For someone that is used to holding two pointy sticks and yarn you would have thought that working with one hook and some yarn would be a piece of cake…not so! I’m starting to make it look less awkward and getting more confident about the results. Who knows, with a spot more practise I might actually call myself a crochet-er (What do you call a person that crochets?)

I have also just spent a fantastic hour interviewing Sasha for Let’s Knit – what an amazing woman and what an abundance of creativity and what a truly inspiring experience! Now I can’t decide whether to spend the evening practising my crochet or improving my intarsia technique – tough decisions!

Three cheers for crochet! Woop Woop!
