Bonjour from La Rochelle!!
What can I say - the weather is fantastic, the company is brilliant and we are knitting all day… does it get any better than that?!
Yesterday I attended a fantastic six hour colour workshop with Jean Moss! Not only did I learn how to work magic mosaic knitting that creates beautiful colour patterns right in front of you without and pesky Fair Isle, we also went right back to basics with colours. It is all too easy to find your comfort zone and not really stray from that. What better way to break these habits than going back to basis, studying the colour wheel and selecting harmonising shades and contrasting colours? What an eye-opener, think my approach to picking colours will be changed forever!
In other news, the BSJ is finished! While I’m chuffed that it is finished… I don’t even know if I like it that much! (Should I say that?!) We are heading to La Rochelle today to gather inspiration for knitting design - I have been told there is a fantastic button shop - perhaps some pretty French buttons will save the day!
