The latest lace project is well and truly on the needles!
No sooner than I had finished swatching than I decided to get stuck into this lace project.
It is a really satisfying little knit, the pattern is only worked on one side so I’m finding it really quick to knit and I’m not losing my spot! Fantastic! It is growing quite quickly too which is a good thing in the satisfaction stakes, although that does mean that I’m closer to the dreaded blocking stage – perhaps I should just enjoy the knitting and worry about the finishing when I get there.
Despite this being my one of my first lacy designs (I created a pair of toe-up diamond lace socks a while back) I’m finding it massively satisfying. I think there is something about watching the stitches unfold as you work that is really rewarding. I’d love to be able to work out a design for a proper large shawl using a few different stitch pattern combinations. Just not sure if how much of a brain-ache that will be...maybe some colourwork next, just to make a change, variety being the spice of life and all that!
To keep me smiling today...
I’m day-dreaming about the weekend, fingers and toes crossed for sunshine (I hope I didn’t just jinx us!)
I would really love a day of knitting and picnicing in the park – how lush would that be?!
