Hi,
I am from Scotland.  I live on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.  Can’t say much more just now as toddler needs to go for a nap.  Look forward to chatting to you all later.

Hi Everyone, well another rainy day and hubby off what more could I ask for? Spent the afternoon with the heating on a glass of red wine and have just knitted 2 little wash mitts from page 78 they are great. Son came in from school and tried it on and it fits fine. Thought that with me knitting for my shoeboxes that I fill for The Samaritains Purse that these would be a good filler, I popped a little bar of soap in side and the look good. Thats what I love about the mag it’s not all big projects because I only knit small things and they knitt up quickly.  Well better go hubby said he will make tea. big surprise He’s doing his speciality cheese burgers and chips. (shouldn’t complain he is trying) he’s not much of a Gordon Ramsay butwho cares another mitt before Emmerdale. Speak soon Anne tongue wink

hello Isteele, welcome to the forum, dont be shy about posting,we’re a friendly bunch.

Anne, I like your idea about the wash mitts in the Samaritan’s purse boxes. we do one or two shoeboxes every christmas and I would love to put in more stuff that I had made.
I’m like you , I like the small quick projects too. some of the knitting mags have huge patterns which look fab, but I know I would never ever finish them, let alone have the nerve to start them. The projects in LK! are much more encouraging.

I am in Livingston and work full time with a husband, and two children under 4.

I was going to ask you about yarn shops in Livinston as I’m impressed with your stash!

Hi Suse, I’m like you when I see a big project these look good but I have the attention span of a sparrow, I want to see it finished in a couple of hours.  AnywaY wash mitts are my thing this week, I’ve got little green monsters lying on the back of the couch (no not talking about my little yorkies) decided to aim at 30 girls and 30 boYs for the shoeboxes, haven’t bothered with the french knitting part so they are going up in no time. sick  sick  sick

Morning Everyone, I was wondering if anybody has been to the Woolfest that is advertised in Cockermouth.  If so is it good, I was wondering about going on the back of my husbands bike and getting a B&B;for the nite and going on the Frid. Husband can go a good ride round the roads there, so if you have been would love to now what you thought and if you know of any B&B;’s we maybe could stay in that wuld be great. Thanks bye

I’ve never been to the Woolfest, but it sounds like a good excuse to get away for a weekend.

Thanks knittingoma it is nice to hear from you.  I too am from Ayrshire so what a coincidence.  I am 35 and have been knitting for a while but only when I get time as I work full time and am usually to tires to concentrate at night.  I am looking for a baby girls hat you know the ones you can add feathers, fur, beads, bows, lace etc.  I can’t find one in the shops any where.  Can you help me out or know of someone who could?  Speak to you again soon.

Hi Isteele, welcome to the forum.
Have you tried googling girls hat knitting pattern, you will be amazed how many free patterns there are on the webb. There are also quite a few links on the forum for sites that offer free patterns, I’m sorry I can’t list any for you as I wouldn’t know where to start, but I’m sure one of the other ladies may be able to help you out though.
