hello nannikins, I’ve just finished a sweater for my daughter and am going to start a top for myself. I did a swatch yesterday, but wasn’t happy with the feel of the cotton so I’ve ordered some other yarn and will use the cotton glace for something else, perhaps a light jacket.

Hello Nannikins...I hope you had a lovely time at Seamill..weather and all.  It’s a beautiful spell we’re having at the moment...hope it lasts for a while.
At the moment I am doing a little jacket for my grand daughter Maya who I knit lots of things for.  I have just sent off a couple of cotton knits for her this morning....she is 3 yers old and lives in the Netherlands.  It looks as if it is knitting up quickly as it is Denim aran in a garter stitch pattern so I think I will have it finishes before the end of the week and looking to start a new project.

I hope everything goes well with your talk at the WRI...I’m sure the ladies will find it very interesting.

Thanks, Knitternicky. So what sorts of knitting do you do?
Gil

Hi Gail,I mainly knit for myself, my daughter who’s almost 20, sometimes her friends and my two youngest boys who are 5 and 3. I do knit dolls clothes occasionally for the boys baby dolls or teddys.
I have/still am knitting some barbie doll clothes for charity, Romanian childrens toys that one of the members Anne40 requested some help with. Apparently the young girls over there love the barbie dolls and so many were disappointed last year as they didn’t have many that she wants to make sure they all have one this year. I’ve also done some knitting for preemies uk, one more hat to do and I’ll gat those sent off. My biggest problem is since discovering this forum I spend as much time yapping as I do knitting!!

Hi there ... another newbie from Scotland!

I live near Glasgow; recently picked up my needles again after a break of about 20 years (no patience, don’t ask!) and so far, so good ... I’m knitting baby hats at the moment for a Save The Children appeal - they’re pretty easy which is good as I’m by no means an expert knitter!

If anyone is looking for a good wool stockist, check out Stitching Time in Hamilton.  It’s quite a small shop but they stock lots of gorgeous wool and the owners are really friendly.  smile

Hi Gill ... thanks! Looking forward to picking up loads of tips from more experienced knitters.  Cross stitch addict for many years (still love it) but definitely been bitten again by the knitting bug!
