Let's Knit Magazine - Your knitting, your style

I’ve been meaning to say hello for a while - so Hello!  I’ve just read my copy of the latest Let’s Knit.  (It’s the first knitting magazine I’ve ever bought - and I love it).  I’m going to have a go at knitting the wellington boot socks - I’ve never tried knitting socks before - I can’t wait to go and buy some wool. 

I also want to knit my Nan some new bedsocks - she doesn’t knit anymore and her’s are wearing out.  It needs to be a really plain simple pattern - does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi welcome to the forum. I’m being a little lazy when I advise you to google “free knitting pattern bed socks” but also my pc has been playing up all day and if I start trying make it work too much it may decide to tell me to go away again…
You should pull up loads of patterns and websites with that though.

As NICKY says, there are lots of free patterns on the web. Just put google and ask for knitted socks and you will find more than you will know what to do with!!!!!!!

I’m new here too so it feels a bit presumptuous to say welcome but welcome anyway!  It’s a very good forum, friendly and very helpful.
I still haven’t managed to find a copy of the magazine so you’re one up on me, but welly socks sound good.
Love the forum name too, you were much more imaginative than I was!  It reminds me of that bit in Notting Hill where Hugh Grant is trying to climb over the fence…
