Howdy all

Trying to use this months cover gift and crochet the funky little rucksack in the crochet booklet but I’m confused.

I used to crochet when I was at school (many, many, ...many years ago) and have forgotten most of it but the very basics i.e chain, and how to double and treble stitch.

How can you crochet 15 treble stiches into a round of 6 foundation chain as per the pattern?

Am I being stupid?!!?? Have I missed something???

How do you do it?

its pobably the numbers not helping you, if it was 12 into 6 you would think
“oh, do 2 trebles into each chain”

but as its 15 so you need to spread the other 3 evenly
so in first chain do 2,
in 2nd do 3
in 3rd do 2
in 4th do 3
in 5th do 2
and in 6th do 3

which adds up to 15

I thought you did all 15 into the space in the middle rather than doing it into the chains themselves.

Hi Suse

Doh! Of course!

So you just stitch into the same chain stitch more than once.

It didn’t state this clearly enough in the instructions for a relative newbie…

Thanks again!

yes you do the stitches into the hole in the middle not into the chain stitches...they actually go around the foundation chain not IN each sticth of the chain. When you have the 15 in you wont even see the foundation chain anymore.

you’re absolutely right, the stitches go in the middle, sorry my head was on backwards yesterday!
