Copy what you want to quote.  Go to reply.  Hit the quote button.  In the middle of the two quote square bracket things paste your copied bit.  Voila should work

hey did it!! grin

I love mohair, I don’t seem to have a problem with ‘eating it’ which is something my Mum always complains about. I do find that the more expensive mohair is better behaved though, Sublime or Kidsilk are far better than the stuff I got for £1 a ball which is really fluffy and somehow manages an almost acrylic feel despite what the label says confused

I have a gorgeous mohair coat with a huge dragon knitted into the back but I don,t wear it very often because the fluff makes my asthma play up a bit.

this contains 10% kid mohair and 13% wool and the rest mohair. it doesn’t feel acrylicy but it isn’t very soft. i think it is quite a bargain though.

I wear bamboo socks from M&S;, they wash and wear really well, wonder if they are 100% bamboo or if they have something else in them? Not got the label any more. Maybe they have lycra in.
Shame the bamboo was disappointing hand knit as it is lovely and soft and smooth and comfy to wear on my feet, and as socks they wash well - really must have something else in. Great to get opinions on LK as I might have bought bamboo for my next project as I was impressed with the socks - I will be a little cautious now and do a bit more research first - Thanks Cookknitwine tongue wink

Hi Jane
I think Bamboo socks would feel lovely, I’m not sure how they would wear and wash ... how do the M&S;ones do?  I didn’t mean to put you off trying it ... it certainly was soft silky and fast to knit with: it’s just there was too much drape in the end result (so perhaps a different pattern) and the ends were a problem (weaving didn’t work because of the silkiness) and the pattern suggested sewing the ends in with a different thread, which then caused it to fray badly.  I used Just Bamboo by Sirdar in a pattern especially for JB by S (8873).  Afterwards I did find some adverse comments, but then again we all like different things (some of us like mohair, while others loathe it, lol!)
Not sure what I’m going to do with the top tho!

The socks are smooth comfy and fairly fine, I have had them a couple of months & they do wash well, I have inspected a pair closely this afternoon and they do appear to have a thread of lycra knitted up with them so maybe that is why they keep their shape. You have not put me off totally but made me cautious which is a good thing.
I am so liable to fall in love with something, go at it hammer and tongues and then realise it is not going to be practical, and time is precious, so many, many things on the to knit list.
I bought some two ply mohair from a charity shop many months ago, a whole cellaphane packet full for £2.00 is that about 20 balls?!!! I just could not leave it at that price, more than enough to make a lace shawl maybe, I don’t know really, but I’ve just never found the right pattern, it is a soft fudge colour. I don’t mind knitting with mohair or wearing it but I do need a good vacuum after a knitting stint rolleyes  to defuzz my clothes!! The bunny on my avatar is knitted in mohair (and other scraps) all leftovers and charity shop finds, & from the LK pattern earlier this year in the pre-easter issue. LOL well time to knit a bit after a day in the garden catching up
