I am currently knitting issue 5’s ‘city of angels’ angelique cardigan. My local wool shop is selling mohair for £1 a ball at the moment so I have stocked up. They have every colour imaginable, so I have picked a deep purple colour and I am using lime green for the edging. Looking good so far.

My mum used to knit with it and eating it,but i heard if you put it in the fridge in a bag overnight when you use it,it should not go everywhere.Dont know if its right as i have never tried it.

Hi Rets
I look forward to seeing the finished creation too!

but i heard if you put it in the fridge in a bag overnight when you use it,it should not go everywhere

I’ve tried it ... it works for about half an hour (or until the yarn comes to room temperature, then it’s fluffy again.  However, I think mohair is supposed to be better than angora!  I did a weeny bolero and was vaccumming for ages after ... seemed to shed more hair than my cat, lol!

What you now have to look forward to is hubby going to the fridge - then watching his face as he wonders if you have finally flipped!  LOL

Nearly wet my chair then!!!!  Yes, you have the right to put ANYthing in your fridge, lol. LOL

I’m just about to start a mohair/merino mix, so it’s got all the soft and silky qualities, but not quite so flyaway.  I love all natural fibres ... it’s only 100% genuine hardcore acrylic that I hate.  I did try bamboo, and it’s pretty and shiny, but the end result was disappointing and I’ve heard it doesn’t wear too well.

Copy what you want to quote.  Go to reply.  Hit the quote button.  In the middle of the two quote square bracket things paste your copied bit.  Voila should work smile
