Hi everyone. I’m sorry if I sound stupid, I don’t really do any knitting (apart from the odd scarf using only one type of stitch!) but I was wondering if anyone can help me. I know somebody who does alot of knitting and, just as a small fun gift for her birthday, would like to buy her some cool needles. I saw a pair once before that were really brightly coloured, I think they were a free gift with a magazine. Does anybody know anywhere I can buy something like this? I have had a look on a couple of websites but can’t seem to find any. Thank you for any help you can give smile

Bamboo needles are very popular on this forum and there are a couple of posts about a good source of these.  I’ve always loved these needles - I think they look beautiful.

what sort of knitting does your friend do? If they like sock knitting for example, KnitPicks needles (from get knitted.com) are funky colours and durable.

These funky coloured metal needles are high up on my birthday wish list.  They are available as single points, double points and circulars depending on what your friend uses.

Thank you Suse.
Looking on this website, I think the ones I originally saw were free with Lets Knit magazine. They were the red and yellow ones. Does anybody know if these are exclusive to the magazine or if there is anywhere I can buy them?

I’ve got some amazing needles from Signature Needle Arts in America.  They are definately a treat/special occasion present at around £25 a pair inc shipping, but they are absolutely beautiful to knit with and really well balanced, plus you can customise the length, tip and end to make them truly personal.

The site is http://www.signatureneedlearts.com or you could try and win a pair in this months comps, I know I’ll be entering!

I know, a complete extravagance! But they were a birthday prezzie, and I got 4mm, so they’ll never come in wrong.
