I’m the same as you Jenifer.  This morning I had to phone Sewing Basket Sue to ask her to keep me another ball of the Rowan cashcotton that I bought from her last week.  I am doing a short sleeved top but have decided to make the body and the sleeves just a little longer than the pattern states. I will go in tomorrow to get the one extra ball but know for sure I will come out with some more yarn of another kind as well.  Yesterday Bill and I went for a run to Largs up the west coast of Scotland and I popped into the wee yarn shop there...and of course I couldn’t come out empty handed.  I got two 400gm balls of Stylecraft Aran for a short sleeve jacket that was on the front of Simply Knitting this month.  Probably DIL will get that too...I couldn’t describe Bill’s face when I emerged with the carrier bag...I had said I was just going in for a wee browse....but we ladies know that is impossible...don’t we Jenifer LOL

I got my 2 ply from ebay this morning and I can’t wait to get cracking with it, even though I’ve not decided what my next project is going to be plus I’ve still to finish the shawl and my black cardigan,

Love Nell

I inherited a small stash yesterday off my MIL’s friend who has decided that it hurts her hands too much and bamboos aren’t for her. It’s a big carrier bag full of mainly acrylics but will ome in handy for small projects, now where do i put it. It has spurned my MIL who no longer knits to sort hers out so I think I may be in for a little more.

Haha, I am picking up my sewing machine 2moz, a med size one I ordered from J Lewis in Edinburgh.  All excited!  I hate sewing but I am determined to learn all a fabby wee machine can teach me.  My projects may be transformed!!  Can only take thinnish fabrics but I don’t mind sewing chunky knits as much as it is less fiddly.

As to getting others’ stashes, that is so cool!  It is a shame the other knitters have called it a day but it must be a nice feeling to rummage through it all wink

Luckily I have my clever friend who I work with, who knits the complicated stuff for me !
I have a friend who went mad got loads of yarn, needles etc, and has lost enthusiasm now, and says I can have her stash, trouble is she is in Suffolk !!!!  and her record of posting stuff is not impressive at all, lol x Janet
