Sounds absolutely gorgeous! I would love to have seen your ceiling lights! I plan to get the twigs just as soon as a certain kitten named Mayhem, stops thinking everything & anything tall and fragile MUST be climbed!!

I haven’t tried them out but you can get knitting needles with lights in so you might be able to use them to knit in the dark with the fairy lights on.
If you search for knit lite you can find them.

I bought myself a crochet hook with a light.  I don’t know that it’s bright enough to knit with in the dark however if you’re in dim lighting or if the wool is dark, it does helpf you see the stitches.
