I need to rave about the following website http://www.bamboo-knitting-centre.com/.

I ordered a set of 15 pairs of 8” bamboo DPNs for £16.99 - £1.32 a pair!, on Thursday and despite there being a problem with the website accepting my plastic, after a quick phonecall to the wonderful Mike, and a cheque going in the post the needles arrived on Tuesday!

They are really great to knit with and I wanted to let y’all know about the fab service. grin

Yep, spotted the add in Let’s Knit and couldn’t resist. I find them much better than metal ones too.

Even better there’s no postage and packing costs so the price you see is what you pay.

I’m hankering after a set of bamboo straights now, roll on pay day!

Just checked them out, fantastic value and the needle cases look beautiful. I think I’m going to start my birthday list.

I’ve used bamboo needles for years. They’re just so much nicer on your hands aren’t they? Plus silky wools don’t slip off of them

I bought two sets of circular needles on ebay and got 30 needles for a total of £17. They arrived the other day and I just love them! They are smooth to knit with and not as slippery as metal ones.

I am now thinking of bying single point needles...or I might just get used to circular ones and knit everything with them =)

Natalie, I had a problem with my Visa Electron card going through on the website, so I called the wonderful Mike on the phone number given (this was about 7.10 pm on a Thursday evening!).  He could see the attempt to place my order via the website! He gave me his address so I could send a cheque, which I posted on the Friday and the needles arrived on the following Tuesday.

Truly excellent service, what?

Sorry, just been listening to a Stephen Fry podcast and he’s rubbed off on me.

I have some which I haven’t gotten around to trying yet.  You can get them quite cheaply from B’hams Bullring market.

Gill you’ve never mentioned before that you’ve been to Brum, everywhere else but never Brum, never mind that you lived here!!!! Whereabouts in Erdington did you live and what school, thats not that far from me. The house I live in now was just being built 50 years ago.( Sorry that wasnt meant to make you feel old honest LOL )
I haven’t really checked the bullring out since they rebuilt it, next time I’m in city center I’ll make an effort to pop down there.
