What’s all this about points and where can I find out about it on the site?

Am having great fun reading all the posts.  This is the first forum I’ve signed up to and I can see now that it’s as addictive as knitting!  Between the two, there’ll be much less time for nasty things like going down to my office and putting in a couple of hours word processing.

By the way has anybody found any 4ply or DK 100% cotton yarn that’s stripey.  I mean different shades of one or more colours plus white in sequence.  I want to make some rather boring knitting a bit more interesting.

I can find speckled effect yarn - like Wendy Supreme, and they do an Autumn coloured stripey, but that’s all.

I’m sure somewhere on the internet I spotted some stripey once, but how of course I can’t find it again.  Serves me right for not adding it to my favourites list at the time.

Gilly willy I am sure that i have seen some dk 100% stripy somewhere. Have to start racking that brain.
But I do have some Sirdar Spree Chunky cotton it is wonderful. A right bargin I bought a pack of 10 balls at 1.10 a ball. But wait BUY ONE GET ONE FREE.

I know what you mean I have forgotten to add it to my favs and regreated it. If you can remember when you saw it, what day, Go into your history. You might get somne luck.

SORRY EVERYONE I THINK MY COMPUTER WAS PLAYING UP WHEN THE PIONTS WHHERE CONSERNED.

Gill what it is is everytime you post you get a number of posts you have done when you get to certain amount you are a jr member, then member then Senoir member what is higher i have no idea.
So come on Gilly get posting

Anyway i shall rack brains for that wool.
Take care love Nicci xxxxx

I think its a good thing, the more posts recorded the more time I know I’m guilty of spending on here. The more guilty I am of leaving everything else to go to pot!!

In fact if I keep clicking the arrow key at the top left of my screen will it make no of posts reverse!!!!!!

I know now why you feel guilty all those post you have made.
But then you either have house work or lets knit forum.... Well I know which I would rather do.
Go Girl keep at it.

Have you tried looking at sock yarn, there’re several brands that stripe and obviously you’ll have a much bigger choice if it doesn’t have to be cotton. Opal Petticoat is a 4ply cotton yarn.  Other than that, you could try looking on Etsy.

Thanks for this Lucy.  Sounds a really good idea. I’ll give it a go next time.  Right now I’ve stumbled across Achor Style Magicline DOTTY - a lovely shaded DK, soft and 100% cotton.  Should give me the effect I’m after.  It’s on the Purplelinda website.
