hello Mariag welcome to the forum!
What fun being a Brown Owl! I used to lead a Rainbow pack and it was tremendous working with the girls aged 5-7.
Where did you get your K9 pattern from? I’m a bit of a Who fan, and there are already Adipose patterns floating around, but I think my daughter would like a K9.

Hi Suse- the k9 pattern is from a very old dr who knitting pattern book by Joy Gammon. we have had it in our large dr who collection for a long time. 4 hours after the first episode of dr who was aired- i had compleated my first adipose! not a brill copy, but a bit of fun, even gave him a fang out of felt!!

Why does Brum have to be such a HUGE place.?
Do you have any knit clubs in your area?

i only know of one club and it’s right in the middle of the city centre at brum libary- though it’s on a saturday when i’m usually running round after my kids. I have taught some of my brownies to knit which led to one of them making a cushion. cool smile

Same here, weekends are family time so I would never get the time.
I did consider going one week, I’d upset hubby (again) and we weren’t speaking so I was v close to picking up my bag and going but thought no, I would only feel sooo guilty. I ended up apologising instead and we had a great afternoon out with the boys.
There is a craft club advertised in my area but it is on a thurs eve which is the only day hubby goes out to the dribble fountain with his brother and our neighbour. I don’t think it would go down too well if I went out instead.
I’m just keeping my ear to the ground for a weekday one to spring up instead especially from Sept when my youngest Max starts school fulltime.

I think I may have a sniff, A friend from playgroup is a interested in my knitting and she is also a freind of a neighbour of mine Liz. Liz’s husband died of cancer just under two years ago and the three of us try to go out for a meal one every couple of months as an excuse to get Liz out of the house (I think me and Cath are just as grateful to get out as Liz). Last time we did this was Jan for Liz’s bday but we were all post xmas broke so settled for an evening round Liz’s instead with a chinese. I took my knitting and Cath was very interested and Liz went out and dug some knitting out she had had on pins since Andy (her hubby)was in hospital. She hadn’t been able to bear picking it up before because it just reminded her of the hours spent at hospital with Andy but that it might be nice to get back into it. She also enjoys cross stitch. Cath told she had been taught to knit but with 4 young children, a lot of church commitments etc had never had time to really get into but she would like too. Anyway she loved the pattern for a childs hoodie I was doing at the time and asked me to get the wool for her which I did and a copy of the pattern. Never mentioned them again though I asked once or twice if she had started them which she said no. However she started it the weekend and has already been round a few times asking for help so I’ve got fingers crossed it carries on. I’m waiting with bated breath as she says she already wants to knit another for her older daughter and her hubby has requested a hat for next winter. I will go round and see Liz and see if she still wants to get back into knitting and if so hopefully take it from there.
It’s just hubby I need to convince, He gets a little resentful of anytime I spend out sometimes, insecure sod see it as not wanting to spend time with him not that I want to visit a friend. He is a little wierd like that sometimes. MEN
