families! what are they like?? you can love them to bits and they can drive you round the bend too.
I feel sorry for these two old dears ( the MIL & the GA), their lives must be so difficult , and I feel sorry for you two ( Nicky & Nessa) too, cos you have to keep calm!

Cheers Suse, don’t get me wrong I do love her to bits and she is genuinely lovely a great deal of the time but like the rest of us she has her moments, but I’m not alone with her as I said she has four children with OH’s and we all get a little of the rough as well as the smooth. It is very funny though for such a close family that she must forget that we all talk to each other almost every day, and that we must compare notes especially when she is a little down. Not in a bad way, we all like to make sure how she is if we haven’t saw her for a day or so, but she will say to one of us that she hasn’t seen anyone when we know darn well SIL and oh visited her that morning. That sort of thing. Oh well like I said in a few weeks she will be back to normal.

Morning Gill and Nicky....thank you so much for your sympathies Gill with auntie wink or should I say Bill’s auntie confused she’s definately his when she is on her warpath...and that is almost every time we see her.  No matter how kind you are to her or how much you do she is only nice for the duration of that...and then she is back to her usual self...and the thing is everybody who knows her here in the town tells me that she has always been like that...so I know I am not being singled out for her nasty treatmetn.  I have got that it just washes over me except when the hits are aimed at my son or grand daughter who she never askes about.  Bill’s son and daughter are like my own and if they have children I will be granny to them but she really does not like Bill being a father to Steven or grandpa to Maya...for some reason that really irks her...and it makes him all the more talkative about Maya when he is is aunties company....so maybe we are just getting as bad as her. smirk  We say that she is our entertainment in the family....everyone should have an auntie like her....gets the adrenalin going tongue rolleye
Hope your day is good ladies...going out for lunch today but I’ll see you all later XX

Oma I will send you some positive patience vibes over the airwaves whenever I think about it. At least you it isn’t personal and why she has ended up such a lonely old spinster. There’s some people who just don’t want to be helped. The deal about Steven and Maya is jealousy because you managed to find happiness twice and they are a very big reminder of that and maybe before Bill met you she thought she would have someone she could have a safe escort and companion in her life but you put the spoke in her wheel so to speak. Bill certainly sounds good natured enough to not refuse her requests for his attendance at gatherings etc if he did not already have a partner. Sorry I’m going off on one, that probably does not make any sense at all.

SHE certainly is, and I thoroughly agree with your chat to OMA, that is also part of the problems amongst my kids. downer  Unfortunately I always think it is my fault and something in the way I brought them up but as No1 saya “they are all grown ups now and YOU are NOT responsible for them any longer”. I KNOW that but it does,nt help.  As we realised at the weekend....MOTHERS guilt is on a par with Catholic..Jewish guilt.  Do you understand what I am getting at????? OMG I am rambling on now.  I am off for coffee red face  tongue wink

I get it Gill definitely (I think)
We are not perfect (although I do not admit that to the kids) and parenthood is a huge learning curve and lessons learnt with one child do not apply to another as they are such different personalities. I know I get it wrong and have to admit that to myself but hopefully the love makes up for the mistakes that I make and I hope if I keep the love constant then the mistakes will become a little blurred on their part and not something to hold against me. God I’m rambling now.
I need to go and get hubby’s cards for tomorrow. and I need to get his presents wrapped and the house clean (OH GOD)and tidy so I’d better make a move and skiddaddle.

You hit the nail on the head there Nicky...auntie has lots of neices and a couple of other nephews living in other towns and villages around...near enough but far enough away to get on with their lives.  We live about 5 minutes away from her...near enough to help but too @?##~* near to get peace from her.  As for gatherings confused unfortunately it is only family ones that she is invited to....that tells you something.  This lady is still driving and has just recently bought a new Toyota car...84years old.

Mind you her cooker and her vacuum cleaner came out of the ark....and it is poor Bill who has to keep fixing them when they break down.  He is an electrician but....parts for some of her stuff are not to be got anymore.  She bought a new TV recently and told me that it played DVD’s.  I tried in vain to tell her that she needed a DVD player to attach to the TV before she could play them.  She kept insisiting that the man in the shop told her that the TV would play them....this went on for about half an hour...and then she finally gave in but adamantly told me that there was no way she was buying a DVD player if her TV didn’t need one.  I gave up and quietly let myself out and ran the short way home trying not to look like a woman possessed....
Oh Gill...I dread the day I have to put her in a home...and it won’t be ours I can tell you oh oh
