Morning everyone, no sunshine in Brum, still dull and grey.
I am having serious problems coming round this morning, in fact all week has been a little hard but this morning I really cannot wake up. I seem able to sleep for England this week, I’ve even had 3 early nights in a row but I don’t feel any better for it! Maybe a quick shower and getting dressed will help.
Speak later .xx

Dull and grey here, like me.  I’ve got to make an appointment today to get one of my cats put down.  I’ve been putting it off for ages, but have to be big and brave.  I can’t do it till next weekend though as we’ve got all the kids over and I can’t deal with both.

All day at work on my own today - deep joy.  I started knitting m-i-l’s Christmas shawl last night and boy is Sirdar Blur a nightmare to knit with.  I also think I should have used bigger needles as the holes in the picture are much bigger than the holes in my knitting but Steve assures me his mum would prefer my version.

I did get most of the way through a bolero for me, but think I will run out of wool halfway up the last sleeve and without doing the border.  I checked my tension, which is fine so don’t know why I haven’t got enough.  Am waiting to hear back from Kemps to see if they’ve still got the same dye lot in so am not doing anymore on it until I know it’s worth my time.

Sirdar is a nightmare to knit lace with, the jumper I made has a lacy edge at the bottom, look on the brightside, the brushed effect will hide minor mistakes quite easily. knitting st st is much easier with it.

It must be me then - at times I had to take a stitch back because the fibres had matted each other up, but most of the time it was OK.  Tried putting it in the fridge before you use it?  To “damp down” the fibres?

The only time I’ve had any problems with Blur was when I tried to unpick a cast-off. I even successfully frogged the first shawl I did with it.

Hugs to Clare and Nessa x Luckily our last 2 cats have died at home, we only have one left now and am hoping he will do the same, we keep thinking we might have to take dog to the vets for the deed, as his back legs keep giving way, and we have to help him up, he is getting on, but seems ok in himself, but am dreading the day when he can’t stand up anymore :(

Weather nondescript today, but at least not raining and have got some washing out, getting on with making another wash mitt, and if hubby stops pottering with the car might have a drive out to local town for a peruse of charity shops and take library books back. x Janet
