i am truely irratated and just need to scream.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh...... nope dont feel any better!
Usually my mother in law is a goddess! but i dont know what possessed her today- i just lost it with her! She looks after my boys while i work in the morning and i know grandmas always “bend” the rules a little (and we usually ignore this)but today she has just made a decision about my son that she knew i would be annoyed about. i ve now had to rectify the matter and my son is now in a tantrum with ME and im the baddie!

sorry to wine but i do feel much better!

It can be tricky I look after Freya and my daughter has had ‘subtle’ goes at me about things, not giving her the ‘right’ food, right clothes etc, I’m sure it will sort itself out,

If it’s any consellation, me and my hubby have had a big barney today, and neither of us are giving in at the moment, mad x Janet

Don’t be too annoyed Grandmas sometimes think that you can go to extremes when denying your son or daughters anything. It is their privilage to spoil them rotten and as long as she isn’t physically hurting him then you can always make sure that its a granny thing.

I have problems with my dad who undermines me in front of James.  If I discipline James, he creeps up to my dad who does the big protective grandad thing, even though he knows James has been naughty and then when I moan about James not taking me seriously, my dad tells me it’s my fault because I’ve spoilt him.

I can’t win.

I’ve tried to talk to him Carol, but he says it’s his right as grandad to spoil him.  Mum’s tried to talk to him too and to be honest he does it with my niece and my brother, so he’s not going to stop.

I’m so lucky with my inlaws, they always back me up, but then I always “let” thenm spoil the kids. How long will they have with their grandchildren?
Its harder if the inlaws are looking after the kids on a daily basis though.
