Hello

I am Emma from Sheffield. I am 31 have a 2 and a half year old and expecting number 2 in 12wks.

I have been knitting for a few years now.

Recently I have started to knit more challening patterns. In the past few weeks I have completed 4 garments. One for my 2 and a half yr old and 3 for the new baby. And I am running out of things to knit.

Hope to chat to everyone here soon!

grin Hi Ladies!

Have just started knitting a balaclava for my son in the hopes he keeps it on and to use some odds and ends of wool I have.

Have some wool and a pattern waiting to start. After that I might be looking for new patterns or raiding my mums cupboards as she has 100’s of patterns. Will be going out to buy some more wool too.

My husband wants me to knit him a jumper too.

I need something to fill in the time I have now I am not at work.

I am a nurse.

Hi and WELCOME Emma.

Lucky you....my hubby never wears jumpers but at least I get to knit for my grandchildren.
Congratulations, and good wishes for new baby when he/she arrives. Our last grandchild Gina is nearly 3mnt. now so you will see pics of her from time to time along with her sister Liti who is 3.
We all like to see pics of work in progress and FOs so don’t be shy.......put them on. wink

I will have to find some pics of my son in some of my creations. Not sure if I have any on the computer.

When he has a knitted jumper on everyone asks if Grandma has been knitting, I enjoy saying actually no mummy has!

I am not sure I have the patience to knit for my hubby. It would cost as much as buying a jumper. Childrens jumpers are easy as they are small. I have knitted my last jacket in less than a week. and it has a cable pattern in it. Just need to buy buttons now and its done.

My knitting won me a prize in our local show last year. This year I have about 3 things to enter.

I used to knit mainly toys but have not knitted toys for years.

I have seen a lovely pattern on the cover of March 08’s issue of lets knit so am going to keep my eye out for it. Its the bear jacket. It looks so sweet.

Can you find patterns from previous issues on here?

Hi and welcome! Emma congratulations with nos 1 + 2!  Are we allowed to know what no 2 will be?

Will respect your wishes if not.  May have a little grumble in the kitchen, but I don’t THINK you’ll hear me!! Not from where I am anyway (deepest darkest Essex!) xx

Number 2 is another boy. Lots of the patterns I haven’t knitted are a bit too girly.

I have found some patterns among my mums collection that I like but one is far to technical. My mum is going to knit it for me. She said she found it hard when she knitted it before.

So not going to attempt it.

Ah lovely - a matching pair!!  Have you looked at Sirdar recently?  (despite anybodies presumption I’m not a rep for them!) I am knitting pattern 1756 by them - it’s a basketweave jumper with rolled edge neck - it’s a lovely little jumper, they also have on the same pattern a blanket to match and plain bootees and a hat to go with.  It’s knitted in Tiny Tots which (in case you don’t know) is a knobbly wool and it’s really lovely.

What’s the pattern your mum’s knitting for you?  I’m intrigued!

will look at sirdar, now you are asking a tough one there I am not sure of the pattern. Its for a little jacket but it looked complicated when I looked at the pattern. It has a hood on it. Sorry cannot remember anymore.

I have just knittted Sidar 3948. I have done 2 jumpers with cable detail up the middle of the front and a roll neck (in 2 sizes 1 for each of them) and a v neck cardigan from another pattern (that my mum now has)
The one I have just finished (part from buttons) is a wendy design in chunky and its a cute little jacket.

I wouldn’t bother - Sirdar’s website hasn’t been updated since 2006 I had a little looksy on Ravelry but it’s not listed.  Just enter Sirdar in your search engine and you should find a site.  Sorry can’t be more helpful, maybe someone else can.
