I’m new to the forums and wanted to say hello.

I am looking out of the window at a really miserable looking day - hopefully it will brighten up later.

I’m new to knitting but have made a few basic bits - couple of scarves, a lovely baby cardigan (from issue 1) and have just finished the Robert Teddy from the toy supplement.

I didn’t use the glass eyes or glasses as it was for my friends new baby boy.  I’m going to try and attach a photo.

I’m starting on the fairy from the toy supplement for my little girl.

I’ll put some pictures when I have finished it.

Got to go.

Sarah smile

Have got a question - I’m not exactly a skinny minny and wondered if you know anywhere that sells modern larger sized patterns, as I’d like to actually make something for myself.

Welcome! I am not skinny either, but am hoping to get rid of a bit of it soon! Keep saying that though. The mags usually have good sizing in them, one of them (Knit Today)sorry LK!, has sizes up to 22,it says on cover, havent actually had time to look and see what exactly, there might be something you like! smile

Just having a quick look, theres a lacy cardiagan, looks hard though, I am not that good just yet! Theres also a sleeveless top, with a low back, but its fairly revealing, not for me. There is another crochet top, but I cant do that yet either!! Hope you find something, there may be patterns on Ravelry

Hi SARAH and welcome.

Looking at your teddy I don’t think you need much help with kniting, he is beautiful. Knit Today patterns actually go up to size 30. Sorry LK, but sometimes you DO seem to be on the side of the Skinny Minnies. But it is still a great mag. wink

Hi Sarah - hope you enjoy your visits to the Forum.  We are all mad, just in varying degrees.  Watch out for the others they are far far madder than me… ohh

As for larger sizes, I too am *ahem* a bit big, ahem ahem (terrible cough I got).  From memory Stylecraft’s patterns tend to be a bit bigger, when I was last looking anway, which was a couple of months ago.  Enjoy the forum.  And if anyone tells you i’m mad....  I’m not really....

Might’ve known it’d be you, GG!

Better that I slightly mad (in a good way, obviously) than a complete and total miserable s*d who doesn’t join in unless it’s to be nasty, advertise something, or make up cr*p???  Of course we don’t know anybody like that on here cos I don’t think they’d last long.  Live long and laugh, is what I say!
