Good morning everyone. Hopefully it is going to be a beautiful sunny day today, weather in Brum a little disappointing yesterday it was warm but the sun didn’t come out much but the radio says it will be better today.
I haven’t done much the last few days so made up my mind last night to have a good go on both the house and gardens today, but have got up with a sore throat this morning. I think sitting down though is making me feel worse so I am still gonna make an effort.
I’m off to do some brekkie and put a little bit more of my haul onto ravelry though first, the camera batteries died on me yesterday and only got the various bits of Cathay on.
Have a good one everyone and I will no doubt dip in and out through the day.

Hope your throat feels better soon Nicky.  If you get a chance to get out and it’s still bad Strepsils Sugar Free Lozenges are good, especially if you catch the soreness early like you seem to have done.  The weather here looks pants - yesterday it was like this, (grey and ‘orrid!) then it brightened up a bit til eventually by about 3pm it was brilliant sunshine.  That’s when I noticed I’d effectively locked myself in the back garden.  Isn’t it funny that as soon as you realise you’ve done something like that you need a wee-wee?  Ended up ringing DH at work to ask what to do.(luckily I had my mobile in the garden with me, cos if its in the house it’ll ring 10 million times!) I had tried all the obvious, pulling, pushing hitting the door!  He told me to lift it up slightly and voila I was in again! Phew!!  I had only shut the blinking thing to stop horrible flies getting into the house red face

Good morning Leigh, thank you for the advice about the Strepsils.
As for locking yourself out, I’m sorry but I am laughing, although if it’s any consolation it hurts to laugh. I take it you do realise that you are not doing your reputation any favours by sharing this story LOL I have to confess it is a typical thing that I would do though. Thank you for making me laugh when I was feeling a bit pants (feeling pants and not feeling somebodies pants, its a bit early for all that malarky)!!!

Oh yes Nicky, I realise!  But as long as it’s with FRIENDS on here and not anybody nasty who would take the pee I don’t mind.  After all I can’t be the only victim of a sticky sliding patio door?  Oh, I am am I?  OK then…

My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I (mis) read the pants part.  Way hay!!  Oh maybe not!

As for it hurting - ha good.  No not really I used to suffer terribly with my throat when I worked in a call centre so sympathise deeply with anyone sufferin pain in that region.

Get well soon.  Maybe the fresh air in your garden will help.  If all else fails you could get a lounger out and sit and knit…

Well I hope you feel better really quickly!

Can I ask how your cupboard is organised?  Not being nosey (honest!) but I have just bought some plastic boxes with lids from Dunelm Mill - the large one I bought is about - no not about - (I have gone and got it) It is 40 x 33.5 x 17 cm.  It was £4.49 and I think they did bigger but definitely did smaller.  Perhaps you could get some or something similar and organise your stash into wool types, or perhaps have some of the smaller ones for started projects.  The really good thing is they are very strong, and they are not quite clear, opaque I suppose so what I’ve done with mine - which are to house paperwork we need to keep but I want to store in the loft - I’ve printed in very large type what’s in there and put the piece of paper at one end of the box so at a glance you can see what’s in all of them.  Cos what I thought was if you did that and had the papers facing where you can see them you know what box to go for.  Hence more time for knitting!!  Yeah!!!

I think the large one I’ve got would hold (I’ve just measured it - how sad!!) holds 16x100g balls - albeit at a bit of a squash but I don’t mind my wool being a bit squashed, with room at the top for about an inch of patterns and neeldes perhaps!  I think that’s quite a lot of storage for not a lot of money!  Hope that’s some good for you.

Get well soon

Leigh xx

this must be laugh of the day

Leigh, you are totally daft, but that’s why we love you on here!!

Organised??!!??! Thats a dirty word round here! Unfortunatley all 3 of us are very untidy, so the cupboard is a place where everything gets bunged in there til I sort it out! Has been a long time, but getting there, found some wool and a load of old comics which will be going on ebay one day!! Thanks for idea about the boxes though, good excuse to go to Dunelm, see what wool they have! Everything in said cupboard is in carrier bags and boxes, so a pain in the botoom to sort through! Will get there eventually, have filled lots of bags for East Anglian Air Ambulance though!!
