hello from flynn’s mum. flynn is my beloved 2 year old Cairn terrier & im glynis. i live in haverhill, suffolk. im over the ‘half century’ BUT only on paper! well ok most mornings my mirror tells me i am very definately over 50 & a few aches & pains do bug me. BUT my mind still insists im 21 all over again! im returning to knitting after a 10 year ‘break’. i knitted avidly before my son’s were born & after for them. it was only when they pleaded with me NOT to knit anymore school colour ‘tank tops’ that i ‘hung up’ my needles. it was clearing out my loft that really made me feel like knitting again. i looked at all the patterns id got & decided to start again. to date ive knitted a dog coat! ive joined a dog charity who sell the coats to raise funds. im now into a cardigan for myself & have dozens of patterns in the ‘to do’ pile! all my friends will get fingerless arm warmers & a hot water bottle complete with cover as presents this coming xmas. wonder if anyone has a nice ‘novel’ hot water bottle cover knitting pattern they would care to lend me? anyway please get back to me if you so wish. i enjoy walking my dog - & any company would be nice as well.

Hello Glynis...welcome from another over 50...just ten months before the big six 0 in fact.  I see from all the posts above you have had welcomes from all ages..young and old....er tongue wink...newly marrieds to us grannies.  I don’t have any dogs or cats...just a lovely hubby who lets me pet him a bit when he drives me to wool shops around the country and turns a blind eye to all the wool I buy.  It’s good that you have taken up your knitting again and I hope you enjoy posting on the forum and sharing with us...you will soon get to know us all...happy knitting smile

thanks to everyone who has repied. nice to be welcomed so nicely. yes i will post a pic of flynn. watch this space. im currently knitting another dog coat. also going to start ‘collecting’ odd balls of wool from wool shops clearance bins. i do like to knit in a good quality wool if possible. how nice it is to have access to so many patterns. that alone will save me a fortune as good patterns arent cheap these days.the offer still stand for anyone who lives local. be nice to share a walk together. thanks again glynis & flynn
