Hi,

I love the patches pattern in issue 8 but have worked out that the wool is very expensive for the full pattern.  I was wondering if anyone could advise for cheaper but good quality alternative wool to use?

Many thanks!!

Claire.

Hi Claire and welcome.
Look at the needle size and then buy wool with the same size on its band.
The needle size for the blanket is a size usually for 4ply but if I was knitting that I would use double knit on 4mm needles. But that Is MY preference. If you try it with dbl wool then STYLECRAFT is a good alternative.

PS. If you make a blanket in cotton bear in mind that it will be a lot heavier than wool. and possibly not as cosy.
What do others think????????????
