...the cotton top I was doing for DIL.  I first started it in the green Paton’s cotton in Flickr photos and then changed my mind as it seemed a bit stiff.  So I knitted it in Sirdar luxury soft cotton (as was the pattern) and it does feel nice and soft...although the Sirdar cotton split easily.

I got my SK mag today and lo and behold the cover cardi pattern is done in Paton’s cotton so the green stuff I have will do for that.

So here is a pic of the top....I knitted it a few centemetres longer than the pattern as DIL is quite tall and she doesn’t like them skimpy..so hope it fits ok.

Thanks Chery and Janet...I was glad to get it finished so that I could get Maya’s sweater started.  I don’t like having more than one thing on the go or I would never finish anything...and I hate wasting wool on unfinished things.  Gill and I were talking about this when we met up.  She says she ususally has a few things on the go at once..I’ve never been able to do that.

What a lovely top, really nice.  If that doesn’t encourage younger people to knit, then I don’t know what will.

Beautiful knitting as always Nessa. You should knitt for LK and SK. I was having a close look at the knitting and finish of the garments in both mags and I am not impressed with a couple of them.

Thanks Gill and everyone for your kind words...about knitting for the mags Gill..I think I would feel pressurised having to have things ready for a deadline.  It’s ok turning things out when you don’t have to.  I just wanted a couple of tops knitted for Isabela to take with me at the end of the month.
I love the green cardi on the front of SK this month..and the little peach one done in Paton’s Studio Mohair...I saw it in Sheepish when we were in that day...now I wish I had taken it..but I have their contact details.

I like the pattern of the green cardie but it would HAVE to be a different colour for me!!!  Probably PINK. I know what you mean about the deadlines for the knitting. I do think though that some of the making up is a bit off in some of the stuff. Of course it could just be me being picky tongue wink
