hi guys!- well i ve started the odd kntting project for xmas gifts (early i know). I have decided to do my boys matching beanie hats. Found loads of patterns on ravelry BUT i ve never knitted one on circular needles and really dont want to have to keep frogging them so can anyone tell me is the pattern just a straight swap from circular to straight or do i need a specific one??? (sorry if this is a really silly question..... red face

You need to remember that you only do knit on every row as the right side is always facing you...no need to purl unless the pattern tells you to.
And remember to pull a little on the join so you dont get a hole. If you cast on one extra st and put in a marker, when you have knitted one round and you are back at the marker knit 2tog and that makes the join neater, then just keep going round and round.!!!!!

SILLY ME got it wrong way round..... red face

If you are going from cicular to straight then you need to remember to purl the wrong side rows otherwise it is the same. The st. No. is the same and the pattern is the same, you just turn the needle round at the end of the row and go back the other way.
SORRY IF I CONFUSED YOU red face
