Woo hoo! Here is the completed Evie, worked in Teal instead of the Lime colour pictured on the pattern.

Unfortunately it’s come up too big, which is why I’m not wearing it!

This is the first time I’ve actually knitted properly - tried it many times but never “got” it. For some reason, this time around, everything just clicked into place, and this is the result.

Woo hoo!

It looks fine to me. You could wear it as an off the shoulder type jumper can’t you???
If you do another one then you could try k2tog. in the stocking st panels to bring your shoulders in a bit. It would be a shame not to try as you have made a lovely job of knitting it.  smile

Thanks again guys.

To be honest, I’m not all that happy with my sewing-up anyway, so I may undo the seams, and try and fiddle with it a bit. I’m not ever so confident, but as you say, it would be a shame to just give up on it.

In fact, as I was typing the above, I got to pondering, and tried it on again - see attached (hi everyone!). It’s not as bad as I first thought - in fact, I think it is just slightly too big in general. But I think I can make it fit better if I sew it up again, with adjustments.

This is real flying-by-the-seat-of-my-pants stuff here! Fingers crossed for me guys, I’ll show you the results as and when they happen.

That’s very nice but perhaps a warm wash and try NOT to stretch it. I am glad you chose that colour and not the lime!!!!

I like the shoulders - it looks a bit like cap sleeves!!  I know what you mean about seaming - I’m always in too much of a hurry to see what it looks like and rush the seams.  Perhaps you could get someone to put in a couple of pins while your wearing it as a guide for your second go at seaming.

The Evie top is definately on my to-do list - which I am estimating is probably long enough to keep me busy for at least a couple of years!!!

There’s not a lot wrong with that DonkeyTeapot...in fact it’s very nice.  If you find it is too wide for you pin it to the size you want and machine sew it up...I’ve tried this and it works wonders with altering a style.

Welcome to the forum. I think its a cracking first attempt, we have ladies on here who have been knitting for years but won’t knit for themselves because it never comes out right. Us knitters are far too critical of our work at times. Well done a fantastic effort.

Thanks smile I am quite proud of myself *blushing*

I am going to re-do the seams - I’m a perfectionist, and I’m just not happy with them. So, I’ll just make a few minor alterations while I’m at it, and hey presto!

Thanks everyone, and thank you for such a warm welcome to the forum
