Hi Everyone
I’m from Scotland too - just outside Paisley. Just joined. This is the first time I have subscribed to a Forum and I am really looking forward to seeing all the different posts.  I had been an avid knitter years ago when my daughter was small then went right off it.  About 2 years ago I started again when I heard I was going to be a Granny for the first time, now I knit whenever I can, especially for my wee grandson.
Isn’t the Lets Knit mag really good - I think I have bought them all and think this is the most interesting.  Although I have knitted for many years I feel I learn such a lot from mags… tips and hints etc.
Bye for now
Cath

Hi Cath...welcome to the forum.  It’s a friendly place here....and some good tips and advice get passed around.  I have a little grand daughter in the Netherlands who I knit for and really enjoy creating some of the lovely patterns that are about just now.  If you have a picture of your little grand son put it on for us to see.  Have a good day Cath and hope we’ll chat again.

Many thanks to Suse and Nessa for the warm welcome. I will try and post a photo of my wee grandson sometime soon.  Hope you have all had a good Easter.  I had the family for dinner today so made a special effort.  They have gone now and I can get back to my knitting!!

I’m in the Scottish Borders and have been knitting for about 40 year.  I can vouch for Twist Fibre, been to about 4 classes despite the 120 mile round trip, also bought my spinning wheel from them. I tend to go to John Lewis or Jenners for most of my yarn supplies as Edinburgh is the nearest place with yarn ‘shops’.

Hi Anne....so you need more practise with the pancake making.  Never mind getting back to your knitting will make up for the afternoon’s disaster and I’m sure your 11 year old has had a great time.  Have you found any knitting groups in the area yet??

hi Nessa, Not a thing, maybe we should start our own. As long as there is plenty of tea and coffee thats all we need.  I wondered if maybe Dobbies Garden Center would be willing to help or is there anywhere near you I don’t mind. Sorry have to go my son and hubby were out playing on their motorbike, thats them back the wee one will be hungry. Boys you never get a minuates piece, then you have adaughter and all you are is the maid, taxi driver and bank. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Bye Anne smile

Hi Panther....good to have you on the forum.  Where in Scotland did you come from originally...I am in Ayrshire and have lived here all my life.  I have been knitting for approximately thirty years on and off but mostly on LOL and now I think I’m addicted to yarn, needles, yarn shops....just anything to do with knitting....even knitting websites and there are a lot of good ones with good online shops to purchas yarns and patterns when there isn’t a yarn shop nearby....hope to hear from you on the forum...and happy knitting wink
