issue 8 comes with crochet hooks and a booklet! I cant wait! Been trying crochet this week in anticipation and can sort of do a chain and then messy double and treble crochet. I tried doing a granny square last night but my tension is all over and so i had a shell on the other side of the hole from my starting chain lol.

But now I can lurk in the crochet corner as I mutter under my breath trying to do it lol.

I am looking forward to issue 8 too..I love to crochet! One thing I am determined to learn this year is hairpin crochet..I found a tutorial online, now I just need to buy the tools.(MORE crafty bits heh heh)

You’ll be good to go by time the crochet issue arrives! Once you have the basic idea, it’s pretty quick to get proficient! Good luck!

Have you tried TUNISIAN crochet yet?? If you can do ordinary then you wil be able to do this. Having seen your crochet, you would have no probs. smile

13th of June for the next issue........and counting LOL

I have tried tunisian, but haven’t gotten into too much yet..oddly enough just today I found a pattern for a wee bag in tunisian.

I also found and have definite plans for..bags made from old vcr tapes!!! LIke the recycled grocery bags, you crochet with vcr tape. and a page with THOUSANDS of links for crochet patterns...(Did my birthdays all just come at once??)

http://www.myhq.com/public/c/r/crochetpoet/

this site is fascinating..what she has created with recycled bits!

lots of food for thought there!! When I get my hooking skills up to power smile
Although I have to admit, my love of the crochet hooks and pattern book is because i’m relieved to not have more knitting needles through the postbag, no matter how funky they look.
Of course, if they gave away some nice 2.5mm sock needles i’d be grinning all over the place lol. I can have twice as many socks on the go then lol

Good luck to you all of you ho want to master crochet, stick with it as once you crack it, it is really satisfying, and it is really quick to grow! And you’ve seen the beautiful things possible on the posts 9 so many Dr Who’s, blankets, babyshoes......

I was crocheting in the staff room last week, chatting away to them all and one of the blokes just sat transfixed, he couldn’t believe how fast the hook was moving and how I wasn’t apparently watching what I was doing. (but I was watching and counting as we chatted) I just had to have a fun dig with him about us women being able to multi-task!!! So girls persevere it took me years to get this competent but now I can’t sit without some form of needle or hook work in my hands. My hands just have minds of their own and have to pick up something to do where ever I am!!! LOL
