hello
I am new to this forum, but I did post a question on the knitty s.o.s site today regarding a pattern I couldn’t understand, and thanks to the ladies that gave me the answer i managed to finish one side of the neck so given me confidence to carry on and do the other side now,my name on the site is jake thats my new grandsons name, my name is ann but it wouldn’t let me register with that expect that there are too many ann’s already, any way thanks to everyone and I hope to get to know you all very soon.

Hello again Ann, yes there are other Anns here but whats in a name ...you are still very welcome and lots of us are Grannies. My latest Grandaughter arrived recently (10days ago) and she made it 8 altogether. 5 girls and 3 boys so plenty of girl power for the future!!!!! I hope your new confidence will spur you on to lots more knitting especially with a little one to knit for.  smile

Hello Anne...welcome to the forum from another granny.  I have a little grand daughter aged 3 and she lives in the Netherlands.  I knit mostly for her and her mama who is Polish and doesn’t have any knitters in her family back in Poland.
Tell us all about Jake and post a picture of him if you can..and let us all see him.
You’ve already been welcomed by Gill who has eight grand children so you are among friends and if you need any help or patterns for baby Jake just give me a shout....I have loads. Hope you enjoy the forum..you’ll soon get to know us all.... wink

Hi ladies, thanks for the welcome, seems a nice friendly forum. I havn’t been knitting that long, took it up a couple of months ago after I was bored just sitting about recovering from brocho pneumonia. I have 3 grand children 19 17 and Jake the baby, never thought we would get him after 7 miscarriages thats why he is a bit special. I am doing him a jumper in escapade d/k wool. it said on the pattern it was advanced knitters but I liked the look of it,so many times it nearly finished up in the bin, until yesterday when i found you all. thank you all again.

hey ann

you find once you start chatting here its addictive, we’re a big bunch of chatterboxes here !

brocho pneumonia doesn’t sound very pleasant but at least you picked up a great hobby out of it!  hope your all better now smile

I took up knitting only recently too, if your ever stuck with something then don’t hesitate to ask there is always someone around to answer!

Hi, I am another ‘granny’ too, my latest one Freya (8months) was one I and my daughter never expected to see for various reason, so she too is very special, I re-started knitting again, when found out my daughter was pregnant, and am now addicted, my hubby complains of having ‘woolley cough’as there is so much wool around !!!!! Welcome am sure you will enjoy being on here x Janet
