Beautiful day again knitters...having to put needles and yarn aside today as garden needs attention again...don’t the weeds grow at some pace in this weather grrr  I don’t like to see it getting out of hand...so it is outside for me today.  Did my ironing very early this morning when it was cool and there is still a little cool breeze just now.  I need to go into town later today to buy a birthday present for a friend but really can’t think to go near shops in this lovely weather....it’s belated already (the b’day present) as she is away on holiday so might just make it another day late rolleyes ...too hot to shop. I hope you all have a beautiful day...talk to you all later smile

Hi everyone,
Just a quickie as I have loads to do. Zakk is ill on his birthday, he has been up all night coughing like a seal!! typical on his birthday and it means I’ve had to keep him off school. He’s shattered before he even started this morning and although his cough has settled a little since he got up his breakfast didn’t last long! so I’m keeping him off. At least he gets to play with his new toys although I’m thinking how am I going to get everything ready and done with both of them round my feet!!!
At least the weather is holding for the bbq this afternoon, not as hot as it has been so the kids won’t get too overheated playing in the garden. I’ve checked the forcast and its downhill weatherwise after today!!!
I hope everyone has a good day, plenty of knitting etc done. I’m looking forward to catching up on mine tomorrow, I’ve a feeling I will be too tired to do much else!

I’m just back from Budapest, so am playing catch up.  It should be work catch up of course, but instead I’m here lol!

I need to go to Sainsbury’s this afternoon so hopefully they’ll have the latest LK.  I’m desperate now to see what’s in it.

I will have to spend this evening sorting out the washing from our holiday so probably won’t get the chance to re-start my knitted picnic.  I’m halfway through sewing up a slice of victoria sponge.  It was quite a stressful holiday and I didn’t especially enjoy it so I would love to just relax and be able to do my knitting in front of the tv.

sorry you didn’t enjoy our holiday clare, that’s such a shame, some knitting will make you feel better.

sorry you’ve been diagnosed with ME, Nicknits , I have it too and now how boring and frustrating it can be, you can recover from it , but only slowly.

Hi everyone, very quick lunch break.
Natalie the needles arrived this morning, thank you very much, they were packaged fine and thanks for the boys extras. They haven’t had them yet as they will just get lost in the birthday stuff but I will in the next day or so and explain where they came from.
Nicky, sorry to hear about your diagnosis for ME, I hope you don’t suffer too severely and you feel better soon. Oh and if they have a sale on in your hobbycraft can you fill in the gaps for which yarns I left out please?
Clare I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy your holiday, budapest is somewhere I would love to go one day, may well be a long time away though, hubby has decided he doesn’t want to fly again.
Thanks for the messages for Zakk everyone, I will show him them later but if I do that now he will instantly want to play cbeebies and I still have loads to do. This is where I really really regret the lack of housework over the last few months!!!
Right back to it. I need to do some more shopping, everywhere last night had sold out of lettuce!! and I went to get my stash of paper plates out of the conservatory cupboard and there aren’t any, I had a scary flashback to new years eve when next door neighbour had a party and ran out of plates so being a bit drunk I came home and took back round all of them. DOH

Thanks everyone, I had a lovely morning spending money at hobbycraft although there wasn’t a sale on wool that I could find. I also managed to get the latest Lets Knit at borders so I’m going to go and have a read shortly grin

I hope Zakk has a lovely birthday BBQ, it’s such a sunny day I’m sure you’ll all have a great time.

The latest Lets Knit finally arrived in the newsagents, the lady was unpacking lots of magazines and I spotted lets knit and was like.. hmmm should I just grab it and run (it was at the bottom of the pile to get it i’d have to mess up her tidy cart!) or should I ask? lol! I asked in the end! I love the green vest top on page 49, i’ve never knit any tops or anything like that before cos they are either on circular needles or it says turn.. how do you turn on straight needles anywayz?! I think someone might have asked this recently so I’m gonna go see can I find the thread, i want to knit that top!

ooo and the needles are cool, I really wish I could have my whole set in different colours!

O yes and Rowena, Knitting Oma and Suse, congrats on being published lol!
